I was out trying a new Milky Way Core composition (before it disappears for the winter) and it was not what I had hoped. As I was considering the fail, I thought to myself wouldn't it be great if the lights were out. I turned from the SW direction I had been facing northerly and saw the magic in the sky. I watched (& photographed) the amazing light show from about 8:45 pm until about 11-11:30 when it finally slowed down. From my viewpoint the best action was toward the NW at the end of the arc but this one was shot due north.
