With Cygnus high in the sky, I have been looking for a target just a little different to the normal targets. Hence WR134. A fascinating target once you understand little more of what you have captured, the blue circular feature is the outer layers of a truly massive star ejected into space. So Often this image is captured as a blue "dolphin" but I keen to get enough Oiii integration to bring out the full circle.

Images acquired over three nights between 14th and 20th August 2023 from my Garden in Worcestershire, UK at latitude of 52deg N. This is a Bortle 4 sky region

Equipment used

Main Scope: William Optics FLT 91 Refractor within 0.8 reducer.

Camera: ZWO ASI 1600 MM pro
Mount: Skywatcher HEQ 5 Pro
ASIAIR to control the imaging sequences.


Exposure times, ISO settings etc.
Combination of Narrowband and Broadband images.
Camera Gain 139.
Ha Filter 40 subs of 300s
Oiii Filter 64 subs of 300s
R / G / B 40 subs of 30s each.

Starless images in Ha and Oii captured and combined in photoshop using HOO palette.
This combined with and aligned RGB stars image
