The Eagle Nebula sits in the constellation Serpens and is straight North (up the Milky Way) from Sagittarius. It's a hard target from the Northern latitudes as it doesn't get very high off of the horizon. In fact, I got several very nice shot's of the neighbors aluminum siding towards the end of this imaging session. In the very center of this nebula, you will find the shape that gives it it's name but should also look familiar to those who have seen the "Pillars Of Creation" photo taken by the Hubble Space Telescope (HST). The star cluster above the pillars is somewhere between 1 to 2 million years old and the whole region is a huge stellar nursery.

68x 180 second images stacked and processed in PixInsight. Image was plate solved, color corrected, stars were removed and then stretched. Photoshop was used to bring back some washed out detail in the core but that is all it really took. The data was very clean.
