Driving South on Hiway 33 in Ojai, CA., I rounded a curve and the full supermoon popped into view. I quickly spotted a safe place to pull over. I knew I wouldn't have time to set up the tripod, so I just winged it. I set my feet wide, held my breath, set my exposure, and fired. I made two more frames with a slightly faster shutter for stability, but this one, (the first of three) was my favorite. It was well past sunset, with a thick Marine layer coming in fast. I knew I was shooting too slow to hand hold that lens, but it was a magnificent sight. I threw all caution to the wind and this is what I came away with.
