Swallows circling in front of Rising Supermoon.
The 99.3% illuminated almost full supermoon was observed rising in late winter sunshine to the ESE of Murambi Heights in Mutare between 4.42 and 5.13 pm on Sunday 2nd July. More information on the July Full Moon and why it is special at https://earthsky.org/sky-archive/july-full-moon/ Not only is this Full Moon a supermoon because it is close to Earth but being closest to the June Solstice its path across the sky mirrors that of the high Southern Hemisphere solstice Sun. This means it will set early on Monday morning in the vicinity of Hospital Hill to the WSW of Mutare. As the crest of this Full Moon falls at 11.39 UTC (1.39 pm local time) on 3rd July the absolutely full Moon will have set and will not be visible from Mutare.
