Aside from the waxing crescent Moon, Mars and Venus, we also see two interesting stars Spica to the lower left and Arcturus to the upper right with the waxing moon in between these two giant stars.
Spica is the brightest object in the Constellation Virgo and is also one of the brightest star in the night sky. It's a primary blue giant and a variable of the Beta Cephei type. It has an apparent mgnitude of (V) 0.97 and its' distance to the earth is 260.9 light years.
Arcturus is an orange giant and also called Alpha Bootis. It's also one of the brightest star in the night sky. It has an apparent visual magnitude of -0.05 and is 36.7 light years from earth.
