The Red planet caught in the Beehive!

Planet Mars was in conjunction or should I say occulting the Beehive cluster last night appearing as a ruby surrounded by tiny diamonds of stars in the constellation of Crab the cancer.
The stars in the beehive cluster are 577 light years away and has about a thousand stars so you can imagine how many planets might be there circling these thousand stars.

Planet Mars currently is in retrograde motion and appears to be relatively stationary in the night sky and soon will be joined by planet Venus surrounding the beehive cluster on 9th and 10th June while planet Venus will pay a visit to the beehive cluster on 13th June. You can still spot the beehive cluster by pointing your binoculars or telescope at planet Mars for a couple of days.
