On a lovely May afternoon during a visit to our favorite local wetland, a little Pond Drama ensued:
• Great Blue Heron lands at lake edge to go fishing.
• Heron gets relentlessly mobbed by nesting Red-winged Blackbirds.
• After moving to several different locations to avoid attack (unsuccessfully), Heron flies off in raucous protest. Imagine a swearing Pterodactyl!
Sometimes the neighbors can be SO annoying!!
