As I was walking on a sandy lot I heard the trilling sound of a Killdeer (part of the Plover family). I spotted what appeared to be an injured Killdeer. It's actions were odd, layiing down, twisting while trilling, getting up and contorting, then walking further & repeating. After doing this a few times I left. I later found out that I unknowingly was close to it's nest (which is made on the ground) and that it was performing the "Broken Wing" tactic to lure me away. It was amazing to witness & photograph, but I felt bad later.
