Are these green shores? That's right, this is the very rare "Green Reef Coast" on Laomei coast in northern Taiwan. The green reef was formed by the building up of successive layer of alga on volcanic rock. From March to May every year, the nearby reefs are covered with green seaweed. Looking around, it is full of greenery, hence the name " Laomei Green Reef Coast".
When the alga dies, its limestone skeletons form layers that serve as foundations for the growth of new generations of alga. This constant accumulation result from the circle of life and death has given rise to the thin-grained algal reef we see today.
