I had gone out camping by Catfish Lake with plans to capture a milky way shot like one that I had done last year, but with the hopes of getting a couple meteors in it also. Well things did not go as plan as a wildfire burned across the Croatan that night. I took a number of photos as the fire passed across the lake from where I was camping. This one was at 5am Friday morning.
