Dragon flies evolved approximately 300 million years ago. There are more than 5000 known species of dragon flies. Dragon flies have nearly 360 degree vision making them fierce hunters. They only have one small blind spot area directly behind them. Larvae hatch, in water and can spend up to two years in the water. Dragon flies are nature’s mosquito control consuming up to 30 or hundreds per day. The dragon fly got its name the Romanians. They associated them, with the devil.
