Spotted this juvenile Bald Eagle at sunset over the Tomoka River in Ormond Beach, FL 🦅

Bald Eagles mature at roughly 4-5 years, marking significant changes in color from the juvenile brown, to the symbolic white headed adult. These big birds have an impressive lifespan of 20-30 years in the wild!

The Bald Eagle is the only sea Eagle that’s endemic to North America. This large beautiful bird can be found in most of North America, some of Canada and in Northern Mexico.

The Bald Eagle is known as a symbol of strength across many countries and cultures. Because of this, The United States chose to have the Bald Eagle as its National Symbol in 1782, shortly after the signing of the Declaration of Independence. To this day it remains to be the symbol and seal of our nation.
