Letterbox Sunset with Giant Sunspot.
At 6.30 pm on Saturday 21st January there was a 5 minute letterbox sunset through a narrow gap between a sheet of cloud and the horizon behind Chikanga to the WSW of Mutare in which the giant sunspot AR3190 is clearly visible on the surface of the setting Sun in a frame extracted from a video taken with a tripod-mounted Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS40 in sunset mode with x60 magnification and electronic view finder. AR3190 is one of the largest sunspots of surging Solar Cycle 25 and is almost five times the diameter of Earth.
