First clear night I can remember in the last 3 weeks or more. This image was shot in my front yard as Orion had risen to almost straight overhead around 10 pm.

The elevation above sea level is 1300 meters and the sky is a Bortle Class 6. Single exposure, 6 seconds, aperture, 5.6 @ ISO 6400 with a 10 second timer to ensure a still camera. I smoothed the dark sky to eliminate light pollution, haze and quite a few of the lesser bright stars to achieve the Orion constellation standing out and recognizable.

Only a little bit of Orion Nebula is visible due to being a short untracked exposure and post processing of the image dimmed out the finer details. It was good to see some stars versus the clouds.

Canon T3i with Canon Nifty Fifty 50mm lens, tripod.

Cropped, contrast enhanced due to light pollution.
