The sky was almost completely clear all around except for a narrow and extremely long cloud that decided to obscure the scene moving southward along its longer side. Fortunately, a small opening in that cloud allowed Mercury to peek out literally seconds before Venus set behind the trees (Azimuth: approx 238.5 deg, Alt: approx 1.7 deg: ), squeezing between two branches that gave me a few more seconds. I remain astonished at the transparency (though not the stillness) of the atmosphere at this location, a few hundreds of meters from the Aegean shore, thanks to rain a few days ago followed by heavy winds out of the North. The Moon, with earthshine, added a splendid touch to the scene. One minute after this photo was taken, the entire scene was obscured by moving cloud.
