"Bright Fireball over Iowa Captured from Missouri"
I received an early Christmas present in the form of a bright fireball picked up on my cameras the night before last on December 22nd. I was lucky to record it as the recent snowstorm was just wrapping up and the skies had just cleared. There was wind-blown snow still filling the air.
There weren't many reports of this (7 so far including mine) at the American Meteor Society as most people were safe and warm in their homes as this one entered the atmosphere. The meteor could be seen low on our Northern horizon appearing to move straight down. This direction of movement may have been an optical illusion, however, and other reports are needed to show us what was actually happening. The camera really captured the green-blue colors oftentimes seen in a bright fireball such as this.

RAW Video was imported into Photoshop as Layers. The layers were then blended and combined to show the entire flight path of the meteor. Some slight noise reduction was employed.
