Deer feeding at the bird feeder during a blowing snow blizzard.

That's right. Not all winter storms give you a sense foreboding, There are no signs of doom and gloom, like overcast skies, heavy precipitation, howling winds. etc. Sometimes Nature paints a beautiful sunny picture while a silent storm is raging . If you see closely at the deer, you'll see the sublime snow flying horizontally. That is the work of Alberta Clippers that come barreling down from North West like a freight train, They usually cause snowdrifts and dangerous Windchill. We already are in the middle of an Arctic cold blast. So the Air Temperature and Windchill have dipped even lower.

It was 12 below zero with a wind chill of 45 below zero this morning. Sun was shining down on us and the skies were clear blue with a thin mist of snow flying around.
