This was taken from my backyard in Kailua-Kona. The glow has somewhat receded if compared to last night. Reason is 2 of the 3 active fissures have stopped flowing. We took a helicopter at about 2 pm today but had to turn back due to bad weather. I am not sure how long this flow will last. Probably for the next few days or so. We will try to fly again tomorrow or Wednesday for a closer look. The last time Maunaloa erupted was 1984.
