In a pretty standard setup, I left my mount out after a night of astrophotography and set the intervalometer to take shots for several minutes. I had a lot of good shots but one set of five stood out. In this set, there is a bright red "plume" you can see on the side of the mountain. It doesn't appear in any other photos. This set was 1/20th second exposures at ISO 400. I assume it is either the sunlight reflecting off a condensation trail (contrail) that is placed in the prime location for an optical illusion, but I really don't know. Anyway, I'm interested in thoughts and the mountain looks great, so I picked this one as my main shot from the series!
