As we approach Halloween, the withering Autumn landscape of Punchinello Prairie Wildlife Santuary is growing deliciously spookier! When processing this photo of yesterday's lovely sunset, what should appear but a Jack O'Lantern Cheshire Cat visage hiding amongst our Cottonwood trees!

Did it arise from the depths of Halloween Heck??? No, in reality the eerie face was a reflection in my window of a pumpkin in the room. Still, how delightfully wicked it is!

Now if only our never-occupied, decrepit bat house had sent a flurry of bats across the landscape just at that moment! Ah well, we can't have everything.
