This pair of Bald Eagles is one of two local couples in Green Island, NY. Interestingly, the 1st pic is of the female who is probably not quite 6 yrs old. The 2nd is the male who is about 26 yrs old! He lost his longtime mate, who was 23 when she passed, about a year & a half ago. If a bald eagle survives its first year, it can comfortably live for 20 years. The typical lifespan in the wild is around 25 years, but some will reach the age of 30 or more.
