Waxing Crescent Moon during 4 Volcanic Sunsets with enlargements of the Moon.
This remarkable composite shows the recent Waxing Crescent Moon from 2 to 5 days old appearing higher in the sky at about the same time (6.0 pm) each evening during 4 consecutive volcanic sunsets from 27th to 30th September. Mutare is still experiencing colorful volcanic sunset displays caused by aerosols ejected into the stratosphere nine months ago by the massive eruption of the Hunga-Tonga volcano on 15th January. The displays are of almost uniform size and duration but their intensity is at present being attenuated by smoke-haze produced by widespread dry season burning of vegetation.

Tripod-mounted Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ60 and ZS40 in sunset mode.

Preparation of composite consisting of four same-size portrait views taken from exactly the same location plus four close-up views of the Moon above.
