Waning Moon & Venus in Volcanic Sunrise.
On Monday (25th) the 10% illuminated Waning Crescent Moon was observed in another emerging volcanic sunrise sky between 5.40 and 6.05 am in the company of Venus (below) and the bright stars Aldebaran (above), Elnath (left), Betelgeuse & Orion (upper right) and Alhena (lower right). Volcanic sunrises (and sunsets) caused by stratospheric aerosols from the 15th January Hunga-Tonga eruption continue unabated and are visible every day from Mutare unless obscured by cloud and provide a colorful backdrop to all celestial objects near the respective horizons.
