I call this one " Star Wars in the Milky Way ". How many aircraft can you see? There are twice as many satellite trails, though some have been dimmed with editing.

One of the most unwanted surprises of shooting in a new location...A Forrest Gump - "Ya never know what you're gonna get!" In this case - Air Traffic. LOTS of it! All night!

No retouching was done to this image. It was early in the evening and the sky was still getting darker so I just started running the 3 cameras even when I could see air traffic crossing my field of view. Later in the evening after midnight I presumed the aircraft would thin out some...not so, they kept coming and going until I called it a night @ 245AM. However I did choose my timing more judiciously as the evening progressed.

Satellites were a whole nother story. They are brighter at dusk and dawn so the middle hours of the night are less crowded with their trails. During post processing a little bit of cloning goes a long way to remove those pesky buggers.

This isn't a "keeper" image but is a reminder image of location and timing for posterity. The volume of aircraft and vivid lighting they provided were enough for me to not delete it from the camera.

Oh! I failed to mention the Subaru Crew racing out across the lake bed randomly during my shoot. Yeah, that surprise, too. Only one in this image, lucky me.

Canon t3i, Rokinon 14 mm lens, Manfrotto tripod, intervalometer timer.

Exposure, contrast.
