A 4 month or so old grizzly bear came to eat beneath our bird feeders yesterday afternoon; which usually happens more in the springtime after they come out of hibernation, yet we've learned to accept them here as it is their home too.
*Upper left photo shows him beside feeder pole. Pole is 13 feet high off the ground, 3 feet buried in ground with fence post, 2 X 4 mounted to fence post then covered with stove pipe so he cannot climb it, with 2 metal hanger poles on top, to hold 5 bird feeders and one tray feeder... FYI... a Do It Yourself design. It works!
*Middle photo, I was able to capture him licking up some food.
*Bottom left, he heard a noise and looked around.
*Large right photo captures him after looking under a nearby tree foraging for more food then stepping out onto our gravel area behind our house.
All of these photos were taken from inside the house at a safe distance for me and the bear! ^_^
