This is an image of the large Oort cloud comet C/2017 K2 PANSTARRS, which is currently passing through the constellation Ophiuchus, one day after the comet's closest approach (about 1.8 astronomical units) to Earth. Of note are the comet's large coma and short stubby tail. Messier 10, a globular star cluster, can be seen nearby.

ZWO ASI183MC camera, WO RedCat 51 astrograph, ES iEXOS-100 mount.

Thirteen 90-second unguided exposures were stacked with DeepSkyStacker; photometric color calibration and background extraction with Siril; levels and color adjusted with Photoshop plus Astronomy Tools plug-in; noise reduction and final treaks with PhotoScape X.
