Unlike many beaches on the East Coast of the USA, Holden Beach Beach faces South so instead of the sun rising out in the Atlantic Ocean it rises on land. It's an odd feeling facing the ocean and having the sun rise in what you think is the North. Lots of Dolphins were cruising the shallows and one 6-8 foot shark came to within a few feet of land while following a school of fish for lunch. Swimmers were alerted and swam to shore quickly.
