Timelapse mosaic of almost Full Moon setting 5.00-5.03 am. In anticipation of tomorrow’s May 16th Total Lunar Eclipse which may be visible from Mutare close to the WSW horizon between 5.30 and 6.00 am, the almost Full Moon was photographed setting today (May 15th) in about the same direction forty minutes earlier to demonstrate the anticipated difficulty of seeing tomorrow’s much dimmer eclipsed Moon through atmospheric haze plus reflected light from another anticipated volcanic sunrise at the time of total eclipse. The accompanying mosaic clearly shows how much the light from even a bright Full Supermoon setting in darkness is attenuated and tinted red while close to the horizon.
