Lightning bolt emerges from cumulus cloud.
After sunset on Good Friday a growing cumulus cloud developed above Cecil Kop Nature Reserve which produced some spectacular cloud to clear-air lightning bolts which emerged from time to time as darkness approached. This phenomenon is quite common towards the end of the rainy season when scattered towering cumulus clouds build up in the late afternoon. These are often impressive reflecting setting sunlight from their summits and producing visible lightning after the sun has gone down.
