This image was taken during my morning walk to a nature park named 'Admiralty Park' in the north of Singapore. The 20-ha nature area encompasses a diverse mix of secondary forest, mangrove, riverine and open grassland habitats, and is home to more than 100 species of flora and fauna. With several trails within the 20-hectare nature area, visitors can discover the different species living in the forest, spot hordes of dragonflies and observe monkeys in their natural habitat. After looking at this picture that was captured from my mobile phone, I then looked up the internet to see how best this image could be described as. I recalled a Japanese word "Komorebi" which means : ‘When the sunlight shines through the leaves of trees’. The phenomenon is best seen during the early morning when the sun had risen. Little things like this can be enjoyed by anyone and next time, wherever you are , if you happened to walk through a forest and see the sun shine through the trees, remember this word and enjoy that moment. Komorebi (pronounced koh-mo-reh-bee) and is made up of the kanji characters for tree (木), shine through (漏れ), and sun (日). Part of the sunlight is seen here on the tar road below which gives the picture and added beauty.
