I set up on this shot looking at the 3 planets Venus, Saturn and Mars then waited for the crescent moon to rise. Looking SE from the Colonial Parkway across the James River.
Pentax K-5 camera, Pentax M 50mm lens Starscape noise reduction filter.
Just basic post processing with Microsoft software using Light, Color and sharpness.
