I am currently working nightshift at the ESO VLT-observatory and noticed the conjunction was coming up the day before, when ending the night and going out, with the moon still a day away. So the following night I just set up my gear on the telescope platform, next to the big telescopes, and dedicated the work break to getting the shot.
Pentax Kp, w/ 50mm lens 1/1.8, on a tripod w/ Vixen Polarie
For the star and the field, 20x10s, for the moon w/ ashlight 20x1/20s, both sets aligned and registered separately w/ siril, and then combined w/ gimp.
