Messier 3, located in the constellation Canes Venatici, is a popular target for astrophotographers. This large, bright globular cluster contains about half a million stars and is 32,600 light years from Earth. With an estimated age of 11.4 billion years, Messier 3 existed long before the formation of our own solar system.
