This is the largest and most impressive prominence that I have seen on the Sun since obtaining my solar telescope a year ago. This cloud of incandescent ionized gas projecting from the Sun's chromosphere is large enough to swallow 30 Earths!

Best 333 video frames were stacked in AutoStakkert3; surface detail was enhanced using Registax 6 and Photoshop; prominence detail was enhanced with IMPPG and Photoshop; surface detail and prominence detail were merged using Photoshop and final image was tweaked with Microsoft Photo.
