I wanted to create something similar to what Raul had done and submitted to Earthsky on the 2nd of February. This is a composite using two photos of the moon taken about 1.5 hours apart from one another. Both photos show a young waxing crescent , 12% illuminated, 3 days after the New Moon. Picture on the left was taken at 7.15 pm when the sky was still bright with day light(and also the sun had just set in the west at the same time). The picture on the right taken at 8.45 pm, dark enough to show the side of the moon lit by the Sun light reflected from the Earth.

Just wanted to have some little fun to illustrate that no matter where we are on Earth, we are looking at the same moon. For instance, one of the best contributors to EarthSky Community Photos, Raul from Mexico is seeing the same moon as me though we are from different continents !

Nikon Coolpix P900

Slight adjustment to the picture on the right to show the side of the moon lit by the sun.
