IC63 is an emission nebula located in Cassiopeia. The nebula's eerie shape is the reason that it is referred to as The Ghost of Cassiopeia. The bright blue-white star is Gamma Cassiopeiae, which emits powerful ultraviolet radiation that is slowly eroding the nebula, in spite of it being several light years from the star.
