I took advantage of the mostly clear sky last night to image a few nebulae. Before I packed it in I decided to do a little early morning comet hunting. This is an image of Comet 4P/Faye, a short period comet that is currently moving through Taurus. Current observed magnitude of 4P/Faye is 11.2 and its distance from Earth is 1.27 AU.
ASI183MC camera, Orion ED8T-CF 80mm f/6 refractor plus 50mm guidescope, SkyWatcher EQ6R mount
I stacked 12 3-minute guided subs plus calibration frames with DeepSkyStacker, additional post-processing with Photoshop plus Astronomy Tools Plug-in and Microsoft Photo.
