Sirius is the brightest star in the night sky, due to its intrinsic luminosity as well as its proximity, the nearest star to the Solar System. It is seen over Southwest of Singapore soon after the sunset

It can be seen in the evening when it sets after the Sun and also in the morning when it rises before the sun.
