The image shows a 18% waxing crescent moon with esrthshine part. Earthshine part of the moon is dimly lit by the sunlight reflected from Earth's clouds and ocean. It is also known as "Da Vinci Glow".
The neighnouring stars are seen to be trailing because of the varied movement speed of the moon and the stars in the sky. The moon moves slower than the stars, so tracking the moon would show up trailing stars.
