The Milky Way Galactic Core has dark areas due to dust clouds that block light. The Dark Horse is named such because if you look at it from the right angle it looks like the silhouette of a horse. Beside it is the bright reddish star Antares, the brightest star of the constellation Scorpius the Scorpion. Antares is considered the heart of Scorpius.
