The ceiba tree is called locally Silk cotton or Kapok .After the pods dry and fall the seeds each encased in cotton are carried by the wind ..just like a first snow
Although the tree is sacred in Mayan culture in Trinidad & Tobago it is said to be the home of a more macabre folklore creature.
