I live walking distance from the sea and we are the most Easterly location in the UK so every so often the moon and the milky way give a lovely display over the sea. There was a low lying cloud threatening to add theatrics to the show, but fortunately the moon aligned with the pier just as I had hoped as I'd used stellarium to ascertain the angle of the moon and the angle of the pier. I couldn't shoot through the pier as there were some crossed over logs that disrupted the shot, but either way I am happy with the result. We sat on the beach and drank tea at 10pm after watching it rise. It really was magical and so red!

Food, blankets, flask of tea, 70-200mm L USM Canon Lens, Tripod, Canon 5Diii. Shot in HDR with the interest of post processing the images together to add texture to the moon.

Lightroom to assess the best images then opened in Photoshop and stitched two images together to add some texture to the moon and bring out the shapes of the pier on the right. General colour adjustments like warming it up and bringing the greens out a little. I hope you enjoy!
