Seen this morning in the skies here in Singapore, which is in the northern hemisphere, the Sagittarius constellation's easily recognizable asterism known as "the Teapot". The 'Teaspoon' is form by the 3 stars seen here above the waning crescent moon. In observational astronomy, an asterism is a popularly-known pattern or group of stars that can be seen in the night sky.

Sagittarius is one of the constellations of the zodiac and is located in the Southern celestial hemisphere. It is one of the 48 constellations listed by the 2nd-century astronomer Ptolemy and remains one of the 88 modern constellations.
