Black Oystercatchers. Despite their name, they rarely eat oysters. They feed on limpets, mussels, crabs, gastropods, chitons-creatures that cling to the rocks below the high-tide line. They were twittering very loudly, that's how they caught my attention from way down below, on the basalt rocks by the Pacific Ocean.
