Given a rare clear November night in Michigan, I went out to capture some Northern Taurids at their peak. The best meteor what not a Taurid, but an early Leonid! Because my camera has been modified (infrared-blocking filter removed and replaced with one that passes more deep red), you can see the red nebulae where stars are being born (the Rosette, Barnard's Loop and Orion Nebula). [Higher resolution available]

Canon 6D (modified), 14mm Samyang, f/2.8, ISO 3200, 30 seconds.

Photoshop (curves to get color balance right from this modified camera, noise reduction, crop)
