It was an evening I had my easel set up for a plein air painting session. The painting was nearly finished when the blue rays appeared in the sky. It made the experience all the more exciting! I stopped painting to capture a series of photographic compositions. This was the only panoramic composition as a photograph. Then, I quickly got back to mixing cobalt blues and integrated the streaks into the wet composition before packing up for the night.
