The Pleiades star cluster, also known as the Seven Sisters and Messier 45, was a conspicuous object in the morning skies here in Singapore. Stargazers who are not familiar how to locate them , should use the many available apps from the phone to point to the night sky. As I am already familiar with the sighting of these clusters, I could see them with my naked eyes. The stars in the Pleiades are believed to have around 100 million years ago, making them 1/50th the age of our sun, and they lie some 130 parsecs (425 light years) away. As seen from the Earth, they appear in the constellation of Taurus. For us here in Singapore, the cluster is above and to the right of Orion the Hunter. Nearby to the left of this cluster, The Hyades star cluster is also visible.
