This prominent and spectacular sundog occurred exactly at 6:09 PM, entirely by coincidence, also the moment of the lowest tide, that being the reason I was out with my camera. The rainbow colours in the ring around the sun were just beginning to emerge from it, and this beautiful phenomenon completely dominated the horizon.
