Title: Great blue heron admiring Comet Neowise
I intended to shoot the comet with the dead tree in the foreground. After a few photos I noticed a couple of odd lumps on the tree, which were two GBH. One flew off soon afterward but this one stayed for a while. This photo presented interesting challenges since the comet required a long exposure and dark background which made the bird difficult to capture. The bird was lit by a street lamp nearby. It was not asleep as it continued to preen and groom while I tried to find some motionless periods when it was watching the comet.
